Hello from the beautiful North Carolina mountains. May is certainly one of my favorite months of the year to be at home, and we’re currently enjoying this six week stay.
Our family has experienced a very trying almost three weeks. We hardly ever get sick, but these weeks have been tough. Someone has had a fever, sinus headaches, a terrible cough, or major stomach issue these past weeks. I don’t believe we’ve ever had such an intense flu season for our family. We’re still not quite over it yet, but it does seem like we are coming out the other side. Praise the Lord!
Because of our sickness, it hindered us from seeing many people in Pennsylvania over the Gospel Express benefit auction. We cancelled many, many things.
We are currently wrapping up details from last tour and making final plans for our upcoming summer tour. Chantaya and Kyra have one more day of school left for this year so the excitement is running high to wrap it up.
Brianna continues to carry the administrative secretary side of From Pain to Purpose. Alisha assists in helping with many of the home functions. When you travel as much as we do, Cindy and the girls are always busy moving in and out of our house. Since we’re only home for short periods of time, and for only five months each year, there are always lots of projects to catch up on.
It has felt like the enemy has wanted to attack our family physically and to bring discouragement into our lives. We recognize that he knows when we are at our weakest and will take advantage of it. We appreciate your continued prayers that the powers of evil will be stopped and the lies he wants to speak into our lives will be dismantled. We serve a mighty God. A God Who is bigger! Praise the Lord.
Because of Jesus,
Duane
