Update From Duane

Hello from the rugged Badlands of South Dakota.

Our family is traveling from Winkler, Manitoba to Delta, Colorado. This route gave us the opportunity to travel through the Mount Rushmore and Badlands area. Since our travel schedule doesn’t normally allow for many sightseeing days, we were grateful for the privilege of spending some family time in these areas.

Some of our younger girl’s highlights included seeing the bears in Bear Country, especially the playful young bear cubs. We also enjoyed seeing all the wildlife as we drove through Custer State Park.

But some of you probably found out that, earlier last week, we experienced some wildlife a little closer than we would’ve chosen. A few minutes after leaving a church in Minnesota, a deer ran right in front of us. We hit it and majorly messed up the right headlight and bumper of our bus. We spent the next morning getting the deer remains and odor scrubbed off the whole side of the bus. The repairs will have to wait until between tours later this summer or fall.

We never know who God will bring to our services. Pray with us for a man who told us that he’s on the way to hell and feels like there’s no hope for him. He listened to what we shared and consented to begin reading the Bible.

We tremendously enjoyed our time at the Thousand Oak’s Gospel camp in Winkler, Manitoba. We were greatly encouraged by our fellowship time with the other family ministry teams. We enjoyed all the late nights talks and potlucks in each other’s buses. It was also wonderful to meet many attending the camp who have been following us on social media, yet we’ve never personally met before. We are rejoicing at how God convicted different individuals during the sharing time we had after the Sunday morning message. It was amazing to see the transparency and humility as many came forward, confessing wrongs in their lives. It was a blessing to pray with entire families in their time of brokenness.

We enter the Colorado prisons this weekend. Please pray for us during our prison focus during these next three weeks. We appreciate your prayers very much.

Because of Jesus,
Duane

I just want to take a minute of your time and say thank you for taking the time to go into the prison in Delta Colorado. My husband is currently incarcerated there and he was truly blessed by your family. May you continue to do God’s work and for him to continue to pour out his blessing upon your lives.
    In the Lord service,
    Raedawn

Hi Rae Dawn. Your kind words and response means so much to us. It was such an honor to spend those hours with the men at Delta Correctional. God was certainly at work, and we continue to pray for each of the men who came to the chapel. God’s ways work and our passion is to continue sharing hope and Jesus to those who are hurting. We will pray for you as well. We know this time can be just as difficult for the family on the outside. Stay strong!
    ~Cindy
