Greetings to each of you from warm and sunny St. Louis, Missouri.
Our family left home last evening and are headed on an eight-week-long tour. We’re getting settled in for “bus life” again. Cindy and the younger girls are loving being able to do this tour without the added challenge of school work. (Of course, this also means I might even get a few naps squeezed in while Cindy helps with the driving.) Brianna and Alisha are using this travel time to get caught up on our never-ending secretarial and scheduling details.
Tomorrow we will be stopping in Memphis, Missouri, before traveling up through Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota for our Winkler, Manitoba event. We will then be heading south as we make stops for our services in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Tennessee on our way back home.
This tour will consist of many miles with a variety of ministry opportunities. We will be sharing a number of ministry programs at churches, as well as singing at the Thousand Oaks Gospel Sing in Winkler, Manitoba. Over two weeks in July will be spent serving in the prisons in Colorado with New Horizons Ministries, and we’re looking forward to minister together with them. Two different From Pain to Purpose seminars are scheduled in these prisons. One at a men’s facility and another one at a women’s.
Earlier this week, our family returned from a family trip to Florida. Someone graciously allowed our family to stay in their vacant winter home. We are so grateful for this opportunity and made many special memories. Cindy’s parents live there, as well as my sister, and it was wonderful to also spend some time with them. Majority of our time as a family is spent in reaching out and ministering to others, but this week we focused on fun activities we could simply enjoy together. We built sand castles, went swimming, biking, reading, shopping, played games and even visited Sea World. We thank God for making this trip possible.
Our church has asked that I participate on the leadership team and an ordination will likely be held the middle of August. Since they recognize and bless the calling we already have, it will not change our current travel schedule. We appreciate your prayers in this regard. Thank you for how you stand with our family. We could not do what we’re doing without your support!
Because of Jesus,
Duane
